Things to do Singapore

Things To see:

Night Safari
Come and experience the night life with a difference!
Nestled in 40 hectares of lush secondary forest, the night safari offers guests the unique experience of exploring wildlife in a tropical jungle at night. Through the use of subtle lighting technique, guests are able to view over 1,000 nocturnal animals of 100 species in vast naturalistic habitats.

Bornean Tribal Performers
Let awe-inspiring tribal performers take your breath away when you next visit night safari!
Tram Ride: covering 3.2km, the tram ride takes about 45 minutes to complete.

Chinatown Heritage Centre
The chinatown heritage centre (chc) is a joint project between the singapore tourism board and the national heritage board. Located in three newly restored shop houses along pagoda street, the chinatown heritage centre houses a wealth of memories and untold stories from the past.

Esplaneade – Theatres On The Bay
Esplanade – theatres on the bay is one of the world’s busiest arts centres, officially opened on 12 october 2002.
Esplanade comprises two large halls: the 2,000-seat theatre and the 1,600-seat concert hall, complimented by two smaller studios, an outdoor theatre as well as a mall. The two domes housing the theatre and concert hall were designed in glass, to convey a sense of openness. To keep the centre cool in the tropics, over 7,000 pieces of aluminium sunshades together with double-glazed laminated glass were installed on a steel truss frame to form the cladding that makes the centre such a striking architectural icon against singapore’s city skyline. The spiky cladding has since earned the centre the popular nickname of a beloved local fruit, the durian.

Singapore Merlion
The merlion was first designed as an emblem for the singapore tourism board (stb) in 1964 – the lion head with a fish body resting on a crest of waves quickly became singapore’s icon to the rest of the world.

Originally located at the merlion park by the esplanade bridge, the merlion and the cub became a popular tourist attraction for visitors. The installation ceremony took place on 15 september 1972, officiated by the then prime minister of singapore, mr lee kuan yew.

Singapore Discovery Center
One of the many highlights is the world’s first and largest team-based interactive “design studio”. Regarded as the jewel piece of singapore discovery centre, the visionarium is a gigantic globe and has a 360-degree wrap around screen inside. In each session, up to 120 people can make creative choices to turn singapore into one of the best cities in the world to live, work and play in. The final design is presented on the wrap around screen.

Sentosa Island
Singapore’s playground, this small island just a few hundred yards from the mainland has something for just about everyone. There’s an excellent aquarium, dolphin lagoon, butterfly park, musical fountain and many other attractions. Older kids may want to just laze on the beach. There’s an admission charge to the island as well as to many of the attractions, so a day here can get a little expensive.

Underwater World
this large aquarium features a long walk-through tank where you can experience sharks and rays swimming right over your head. We especially liked the little sea dragons, relatives of the sea horse.

Dolphin Lagoon
Admission to underwater world also includes a show at the dolphin lagoon, where trained rare pink dolphins put on a show.

Fort Siloso
This historical fixture on the west tip of the island is an old british fort.

Merlion Statue
This 120-foot tall symbol of singapore dominates the skyline around much of the island. You can climb up for a great view from the lion’s mouth.

Songs Of The Sea
Get ready to fall under the spell of sentosa island’s latest nightly multi-sensory extravaganza. Set in the sea, this mesmerising show is presented by a live cast, with captivating music and dramatic visual effects, including pyrotechnics, lasers, water jets, flame bursts and computer imaging.
Please do note that both shows on weekends and public holidays are especially crowded and are always sold out. Please come early to purchase your tickets to avoid disappointment. We appreciate your cooperation in making your experience memorable and pleasant.

Images Of Singapore
step back into 14th century singapore with a little help from the 21st century! At this museum, life-size figures, rare artefacts and state-of-the-art technology bring the sights, sounds and smells of bygone singapore to life.
you can recount singapore’s maritime history through the eyes of a chinese merchant, come face-to-face with charismatic personalities like sir stamford raffles, relive singapore darkest hours at the surrender chambers, or simply celebrate with us as we recreate the rituals, festivals and cultural practices of the chinese, malays, indians and peranakans in their full glory.
