Athens
The capital of greece is the city of the olympic idea, the city of culture, of science and commerce. The sprawling city is bounded on three sides by mt hymettos, mt parnitha and mt pendeli; whilst inside athens are eight hills , the acropolis and lykavittos being the most prominent.
Acropolis
A splendid religious complex, the acropolis consists of several temples, which were built by the world’s first democracy during 5th century bc. The most majestic building of all ispartheneon, a temple dedicated to goddess athenea. The parthenon became paragon of classical greek architecture. A small museum features an outstanding collection of ancient greek sculptures. Beside the pathenon iserechtheion, immediately, recognizable for its much photographed caryatids, the six maidens who take the place of columns.
Saronic Gulf Islands: Aegina – Hydra – Poros
The saronic are the closest islands from the athens and the most easily accessible by full day cruise trip from athens.
Aegina
Aegina is the closest island, sporting a sandy beach called agia marina, and a quaint fishing village called perdika.
Hydra
Hydra has no sandy beaches, but the town is picturesque.
Poros
Sports beautiful forest that descend to the beach.
Delphi (full day tour from athens)

Olympia
The very first olympic games were born in olympia in 776 bc and the olympic flame remains burning here to this day. Located 200 km from athens, the ancient site is a mass of marble, restored temples, including the spectacular temple of zeus. There is also a good archaeological museum on the site, and a museum of the olympic games located in the modern town of olympia. Southeast of olympia at bassae (vasses) is the well-preserved temple of apollo epicurius, dating back to the 4th century bc.
Kalambaka
Kalambaka is a small modern town which is near meteora. The most interesting feature of the town is the dramatic backdrop of the steep meteora rocks that frame the northern part of the skyline.
Greek Islands
Greek is famous for its islands with blue water, white sand beaches and exotic resorts.
