Climate
Summer:
During the summer season, from December till March, Auckland remains very warm and sunny. The regular maximum reaches 22C in the first month of summer , climbs to 23C in January, 24C in February. However in March it falls slightly and stays at 22C. Although extreme hit is rare, the temperature can climb into the high 20s. On the other hand, nighttime in the city remains pleasant and comfortable with below 20C. During the season sunshine levels reach their annual best of an average of seven hours per day.
Autumn:
Albeit autumn in Auckland, from April to May, remains warm in the first few days, it becomes mild and sees wet and grey weather as the season progresses. The regular high drops to 20C in April and 17C in May while the average low falls into 15C and 12C respectively. The levels of rainfall increase slightly and downpours occur more regularly.
Winter:
Winter comes in June and lasts till August in Auckland. The season remains mild and sunny yet some parts of Auckland see wet weather. The regular high temperature gets down to 15C in the first two months of the season and reaches it’s lowest of 14C in July. Throughout July the average low temperature stands at 7C. However, neither frost nor snow develops in the season since the temperature doesn’t get cold enough.
Spring:
Spring comes in Auckland for two months, September and October. Generally it is a warm season with maximum temperature 18C. On the other hand, the minimum temperature in the city may stand at 13C. During this season Auckland receives more than five hours of sunshine per day.
