Things To Do:
Thailand

Things To see & Do:

Bangkok city & temple tour-

Visit two of the most famous buddha temples. Temple of reclining buddha & temple of golden buddha.
The Golden Buddha Temple
Wat traimit is thought to date from the 13th century. The golden buddha image is about 900 years old and is cast in the sukhothai style. It is believed to have been brought first to ayutthaya. When the Burmese were about to sack the city, it was covered in plaster to hide its value. Two centuries later, still in plaster, it was thought to be worth very little. But in 1957, when the image was being moved to a new temple in Bangkok, it slipped from a crane and was left in the mud by workmen. In the morning, a temple monk, who had dreamed that the statue was divinely inspired, went to see the Buddha image. Through a crack in the plaster he saw a glint of yellow, and discovered that the statue was pure gold.
Off to the side of wat traimit is a small chapel containing the world’s largest solid-gold Buddha, cast about nine centuries ago. The graceful seated Buddha is nearly 10 feet high and weighs over 5 tons with 18-carat glory. This powerful image has such a bright, reflective surface that its edges seem to disappear, and it gleams with such richness and purity that even the most jaded are inspired by its strength and power.

The Reclining Buddha-
The temple is actually much older than the city of Bangkok itself. It was founded in the 17th century, making it the oldest temple in Bangkok. The name wat po comes from its original name of wat potaram:King Rama is the founder of Bangkok, enlarged the temple, installed many statues and other artefacts recovered from ayuthaya, and renamed the temple wat phra chetuphon in 1801.

Pattaya( Must See Destination)
Its asia’s premier beach resort, 147 kms southeast of Bangkok. The city of entertainment includes coral island, noong nooch village, alcazar show, mini siam and museum.

Coral Island-
Coral reefs from the shallow water that is at a nice warm temperature. Coral forms near land and in the tropics. They are very rich in life. Clown fish and many other organisms can be found here.
Coral reefs are very tall and can stretch for miles. The coral is formed by polyps, and when they die they leave behind a stony limestone structure. Only the coral that are hard can form coral. It is very vulnerable to death. If it kicked, even slightly, it will most likely die. Coral can also die by turning white.
There Are Three Types Of Coral
Fringing coral, barrier coral, and coral atolls. Fringing coral forms along continental shelves and coast lines. Barrier coral runs parallel to the shorelines and are separated by lagoon. Coral atolls grow on top of old sunken volcanoes. Coral reefs are a very important ecosystem. They contain a lot of rich resources such as new medicines.
They are very delicate and even a slight temperature change can stress them. Chemicals kill them and can block the needed sunlight out. Coral reefs are usually found in bright colors such as orange, tan, yellow, purple, and green. Coral reefs will be wiped out very shortly so we really need to protect them. Koh larn island is a nice island about 20 mins speedboat ride from pattaya. Enjoy optional exciting water sports activities like snorkeling, jet ski, parasailing or banana boat near here.
There is also a small shop selling souvenirs, and freshly cooked thai food. You can also hire sun loungers and other equipment. Please note that all the water activities are on your own and the price of each activity which you want to do will have to be finalized by you only with the activity provider.

Alcazar show-
The alcazar show has been delighting audiences from around the world of almost 20 years. Thrilling 1,000,000 with laughter & impressions. You’ll experience the magic of alcazars state of the art computerized lighting system and be dazzled by the effects of its circle surrounding sound dts system, but that’s only the beginning. Prepared to be entertained in grand style by its 400 staff wonderfully talented artists and entertainers.
The phettrakul family is the founder & owner of the alcazar cabaret, which is located on pattaya 2nd road. Originally, it was a small theatre of 350 seats with 40 employees on almost 20 years ago. The floor, stage & technical equipment were rudimentary and in fact the business was not so successful in that early day, however, the family never gave up and continued to improve and upgrade its facilities until alcazar cabaret show became “world famous”!
Today’s alcazar features a grand beautiful theatre with a capacity of 1,200 seats & 440 employees. With state of art light & sound system featuring the ultra high tech “circle surround sound dts system” & the most modern computer technology. Today, the alcazar cabaret is “world class”!.
Alcazar cabaret of pattaya is now well known throughout most of the “international” in equivalence to both lido & moulin rouge of paris. But alcazar is different that lady-man stages it. Alcazar can successfully blend the art of acting, stage design, costumes & the sequence of the shows so well to be impressed by every one of all ages. So alcazar is a must to visit for both local & foreign visitors don’t miss it ever.

Rivers and canals referred to maenam and khlong in thai have always been vital forms of communication. When the capital of thailand was moved to bangkok in 1782 (the beginning of the rattanakosin period), the capital was laced with canals, so bangkok was sometimes called the “venice of the east” by european visitors.
In the past, bangkokians usually settled by the chao phraya river and gradually spread into the core of the country. As you will see traces of the early rattanakosin period such as architecture and traditional ways of life have been left by the river more than in the inland areas. Besides, waterways at that time were the most important means of transportation and trading as well.
Nowadays, even though bangkok has become a modern city, the chao phraya river as well as the canals are still charming for whoever wishes to seek the peaceful atmosphere amidst bustling bangkok.

In 1954 mr.pisit and mrs. Nongnooch tansacha bought approximately 600 acres of rolling hills and valleys at sukhumvit road in chonburi province. The newly purchased land was anticipated to become a fruit plantation. Mrs. Nongnooch during her trip abroad, was inspired by the beauty of the world-renowned gardens and decided to turn the fruit orchard into a tropical garden.
Opened to the public in 1980, the garden was named ” suan nong nooch ” in honor of mrs. Nongnooch, as the word “suan” means garden. The garden opened to the public in 1980, and management was transferred to pisit and nongnooch’s son kampon tansacha in 2001. The garden currently fills 500 out of the 600 acres (2.4 km2).
Noong nooch tropical garden has emerged as fascinating tourist destination renowned for its wide ranging orchid species, bonsai gardens and countless flowers and plants from all corner of the world. Bangkok’s shopping centrecentral world plaza (ratchadamri rd) is one of the city’s largest and most popular shopping malls. An exception ismbk(mahboonkrong), a massive sprawling mall over seven storey’s with a complete mixture of goods, ranging from domestic kitchen items to leather coats. Prices are very reasonable. The neighbouring malls (the siam discovery centre and the siam centre) are slightly more westernised and consequently often less interesting – unless you’re after some expensive consumer goods.
Several department stores can be accessed directly from their corresponding skytrain station:central chidlom(chidlom station);central silom(sala daeng station) andthe emporium(phrom phong station). Siam square itself can be accessed via central station, the point where the two existing lines meet. Markets
The lumpini night bazaar(also known assuan lum) is heralded as the largest market in downtown bangkok. Open each and every evening until late, this vibrant shopping environment sells an eclectic range of items, and not being specifically aimed at the tourist market you’ll find it isn’t just the usual collection of rather sad and unimaginative souvenir items. Good quality woodwork and art pieces vie for space on stalls with rather more mundane items. The bazaar also boasts a rather splendid beer garden open when weather allows. With a variety of beers for sale from the hostesses and food stalls surrounding the central table area you might be forgiven for forgetting to do any shopping here. During rainy season if the beer garden closes there are several indoor restaurants that prove just as enticing.
    Mbk
Mbk center , an enormous 8-storey marble mall opened in 1985, is one of the biggest shopping malls in asia. The center provides over 2,000 stores and services
    Shopping Tips
Bartering is a way of life in bangkok and some simple rules apply: don’t barter on goods marked with a price. When bartering don’t raise your voice and never lose your temper. Never pay more than half the amount of the opening bid. And remember that bartering, at least for tourists, should be fun and is not to be taken too seriously.
    Tax Refund
When leaving Thailand, all non-thai visitors who have been in the country for less than 180 days and who depart by air from one of the international airports can apply for a tax refund on goods bought. Most countries offering a tax refund specify a minimum amount that must be spent in a particular shop to claim a refund. In Thailand, refunds are only given on amounts totaling over thb5000 purchased in the last 60 days.
Only receipted purchases in excess of thb2000 (from one store in one day) can contribute towards this total. To reclaim tax you need to show the sales assistant your passport and ask them to fill out a vat refund form (pp10) and attach an invoice showing the amount of tax. You will also need to state the method of refund as cash, banker’s draft or credit card.
Please note that a cash refund (in thai baht) is only available for refunds of up to thb10000. On departure from Thailand customs officers must inspect the purchases before you check in. They will also need to see form pp10 with the tax invoice. Please note that purchases must be made from stores displaying a “vat refund for tourists” sign, as not all stores participate in the scheme. There is no refund on gemstones and a charge is payable depending on how you choose to receive your refund.
    Popular for: Thai massage
Traditional thai massage can be arelaxing, indulgent and invigorating experience- without any of the salacious undertones often associated with the western or patpong road equivalent. Massage is seen as a healing art and is both practiced and instructed with great skill.
