To reach there one must take a ferry that leaves from battery park and from new jersey. This monument stands 151 feet tall and is a defining characteristic of the new york skyline. The statue of liberty is 46,5 meter (151ft) high and together with the pedestal it reaches 93 meter (305ft).

Empire State Building
The empire state building is a 102-story landmark art deco skyscraper. It is 381 meters (1,250 ft) tall. Its name is derived from the nickname for new york, the empire state. It stood as the world’s tallest building for more than 40 years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the world trade center’s north tower was completed in 1972. Following the terrorist bombing and destruction of the world trade center in 2001, the empire state building again became the tallest building in new york city
You can visit the empire state building’s observatory on the 86th floor from where you have a magnificent view over the city of new york. It stood as the world’s tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the world trade center’s north tower was completed in 1972. The building has 102 floors.

Museum Of Natural History:
The american museum of natural history, located on the upper west side of manhattan, is one of the largest and most celebrated museums in the world. The museum collects and preserves material evidence, distributes educational materials, and produces public programming. The holocaust museum also holds annual holocaust commemorations and remembrances.
The Washington Monument:
The washington monument is located at the national mall. The washington monument is a 555ft/169m tall obelisk built between 1848 and 1884 in honor of the first president of the united states, george washington. It is the tallest free standing masonry structure in the world. The design of the monument was simplified: it was decided the colonnade would not be built and the obelisk would keep the proportions of a standard egyptian obelisk. In 1879 construction resumed under the supervision of lt. Colonel thomas l. Casey. And four years later the monument was completed.

Yosemite National Park
Brief History:
Yosemite national park (pronounced yo-seh-mit-tea) is located in the sierra nevada mountains of california about 200 miles (300 km) east of san francisco. From the san francisco bay area and the northern part of california, it is a pleasant 4-hour drive eastward over the coastal range, across the central valley and through the foothills of the sierras to yosemite. From southern california and the los angeles area, it is a six hour drive northward through the fertile farmlands of the central valley along interstate 5 and highway 99 to merced then eastward along route 140 into the sierra nevada mountains to yosemite.
Water Falls:
Yosemite is home to countless waterfalls. The best time to see waterfalls is during spring, when most of the snowmelt occurs. Peak runoff typically occurs in may or june, with some waterfalls (including yosemite falls) often only a trickle or completely dry by august. Storms in late fall rejuvenate some of the waterfalls and all of them accumulate frost along their edges many nights during the winter.
This is not a complete list of yosemite’s waterfalls. While all but the last two of the waterfalls listed below are in yosemite valley, both yosemite valley and many other areas of the park have waterfalls both big and small.
Yosemite falls (2,425 ft)
Flows:
Approximately November Through July, With Peak Flow In May. Look for the ice cone at the base of the upper fall during winter and for roaring runoff april through june. Yosemite falls, one of the world’s tallest, is actually made up of three separate falls: upper yosemite fall (1,430 feet), the middle cascades (675 feet), and lower yosemite fall (320 feet).
Bridalveil fall (620 feet)
Flows: All Year, With Peak Flow In May. This is often the first waterfall visitors see when entering yosemite valley. In spring, it thunders; during the rest of the year, look for its characteristic light, swaying flow.
Vernal fall (317 feet)
Flows: all Year, Though By Mid To Late Summer, It Narrows And Separates Into One, Two, Or Three Falls As Water Flows Decrease Peaks In Late May.
Nevada fall (594 feet)
Flows: All Year, With Peak Flow In Late May. You can see nevada fall (from a distance) at glacier point. The road to glacier point is open approximately late may through sometime in november. A wheelchair-accessible trail is available to the viewpoint when the road is open.
Ribbon fall (1,612 feet)
Flows: approximately march through june, with peak flow in may.You can see ribbon fall from the road as you drive into yosemite valley, just beyond the turn for bridalveil fall (parking is available in turnouts).
Horsetail fall (1,000 feet)
Flows: Approximtely December Through April. Horsetail fall is famous for appearing to be on fire when it reflects the orange glow of sunset in mid- to late-february. It falls off of the east side of el capitan and is best seen from just east of el capitan.
Illilouette fall (370 feet)
Flows: All Year, With Peak Flow In Late May. While many hikers notice this waterfall as they’re hiking toward vernal fall, the best place to see it is on the panorama trail, a few miles from glacier point (see a list of valley day hikes). This waterfall is not visible from any road; it’s only visible by hiking on steep trails. Wapama falls (1,400 feet)
Flows: All Year, With Peak Flow In May. Relatively few people visit hetch hetchy valley to see this roaring waterfall. In some springs, the water from this fall flows over the footbridges near its base.
Chilnualna falls (about 2,200 feet)
Flows: All Year, With Peak Flow In Maythis . waterfall, located in wawona, hides behind twists and turns in the rock it’s impossible to see the entire fall at the same time.
Lakes:
Very few lakes are easily accessible in yosemite national park. Tenaya lake (above) is one of the easiest to get to (when the tioga road is open, late may or early june to sometime in november) and is quite popular for picnicking, swimming, and canoeing. You can see tenaya lake from olmsted point and as you drive past it. Two picnic areas are available (one of them is wheelchair accessible).

Golden Gate Bridge:
The golden gate bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the golden gate, the opening of the san francisco bay onto the pacific ocean. The golden gate bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937 and has become an internationally recognized symbol of san francisco and the united states.
Union Square:
Union square is located between geary, powell, post and stockton streets in san francisco. The third largest shopping area in the united states, san francisco’s union square is home to tons of upscale stores and hotels. Union square, which refers both to san francisco’s central shopping area as well as the 2.6 acre (1 ha) square bordering geary, powell, post and stockton streets, had its beginnings during the years of the u.s. Civil war. The square got its name thanks to the large number of pro-union rallies held there during the war.
Victoria Monument:
At the center of union square stands a tall column topped with a statue of victoria, goddess of victory. The monument commemorates the victory of admiral dewey in 1898 at manila bay during the spanish – american war.
Union Square Area:
Union square continues to describe not only the small square that bears the name but also the streets around it. Macy’s flagship store is located there as are other popular upscale retail vendors such as neiman-marcus and nordstrom’s. Boutiques are plentiful as well as are art galleries touting works by wonderful regional artists. San francisco’s theater district also borders the union square area. In addition, some of the city’s finest hotels are situated in or near union square, including the st. Francis, sir frances drake hotel, and the san francisco grant hyatt.

Cable Car Museum:
Nob hill is home to the city’s cable car museum. This museum, located on mason street, is located in the city’s cable car barn and powerhouse and provides visitors with an excellent look at the history of this famous form of transportation.
Huntington Park:
In the center of nob hill is pretty huntington park. Once the site of the mansion of railroad tycoon collis huntington and his wife arabella, the park was built after the 1906 earthquake flattened the grand estate. A good place to relax, the park has plenty of benches as well as a children’s playground. Don’t miss the replica of rome’s fountain of the tortoises, located in the middle of the park.
Grace Cathedral:
Adjacent to huntington park is grace episcopal cathedral. The largest episcopal church on the west coast, this cathedral boasts elaborate stained glass windows and massive bronze doors. The cathedral was built between 1928 and 1964 after the notre-dame cathedral.
Union Club
This building in italianate style, also known as the flood mansion, is one of the few that survived the fire of 1906. It was built by augustus laver for james flood, known as the bonanza king since his wealth was the result of the discovery of a bonanza. After the fire the burnt-out building was purchased and renovated by the pacific-union club, a private social club with its roots in the goldrush era.
Bay BridgeL:
The san francisco-oakland bay bridge holds the title of longest high-level bridge in the world at 8.4 miles. Completed in 1936, the bay bridge earned the honor of being declared the seventh wonder of the world in 1955 by the american society of civil engineers. It is actually two different types of bridges–suspension on the san francisco side and cantilever on the oakland side–connected via tunnel through yerba buena island.
Fisherman’s Wharf:
One of san francisco’s most visited attractions, fisherman’s wharf is a delightful outdoor area that truly reflects the people and culture of the city. The wharf at san francisco has always been the center of life in this city by the bay. Unlike the chinatowns in vancouver or new york, san francisco’s chinatown is in some areas filled with tourist shops. Chinatown also has several temples; three of them are located in the waverly place, which is also known as the ‘street of painted balconies’. This street is certainly worth a visit.
